The rooms are exceptional. the location is stunning, close to Caldas de Reis, the river, the lawn, and the mill ruin. - the beaches on the coasts are easily accessible by taxi from the town center where taxis are readily available.

We liked its delicious and sensational breakfasts!
It was fairly clean and the atmosphere was elegant all around. We were given luxurious and quiet rooms with fire place, view of the gardens, as example. The location was beautiful and wonderful, in very impressive gardens, convenient to go everywhere...

Garden view rooms vibe. You got central heating here, a handy work desk, and a TV with many channels — super helpful. 🌿

Although the rooms are small they are very cosy. The hotel is a small home business, therefore, you will be treated like family. Everything smells like flowers. Outside you can hear the river passing by this reinvented mill building. Breakfast is magnificent. You can try the Santiago cake and same other home made local delicacies.
Everything was great!

The atmosphere and the attention to detail.
Had to get a taxi in to town. Would like if they provided evening meals and had a pool.

We felt like we were living in a dream at this perfect hotel. The large stone house was elegantly furnished in a country home style from the early 1900s, complete with antiques and beautiful stone work. The room was a dream, with a soft and comfortable bed and a view of the extensive gardens, waterfalls, and natural pool. The breakfast in the dining room was nice and the high-quality toiletries were replenished daily. The location was perfect, conveniently situated between Santiago and Vigo, and close to the coastline. we highly recommend this exceptional hotel.

The Torre Do Rio is one of the best B&B's we have stayed at. The house and property are beautiful. Our room on the top floor was large, luxurious and with a great view. Anna, who will greet you is outstanding. She helped us plan trips, recommended restaurants (you must visit Taberna Muino) and served an excellent breakfast. We highly recommend this accomodation.

This hotel is a perfect harmony of tranquility and nature at its best. The lovely house blends perfectly with its stunning location on the banks of a winding river. Inside the house, the decor is of the highest order, as is the cleanliness and comfort of the bedrooms. Once outside, in the gardens, around every corner there is a new vista to enjoy, with numerous locations furnished with table and chairs - and always, the sublime noise of the river running over rocks and through weirs. The staff are "invisible" but instantly appear when called by a bell in the reception area; the service they provide is always accompanied by a smile. The breakfasts provided in the beautiful dining room, were delicious; however, i did rather miss my normal cereals! As you will gather, we really enjoyed our four night stay at the Torre Do Rio.
This is a very minor observation compared with the so numerous plus points; however, we would love to have enjoyed an evening meal at the Torre. Obviously, the facilities are not currently available, but the owner advised me that they plan to convert the old mill building - right alongside the river - into a restaurant in the near future. Considering the attention to detail already evident in the Torre, I'm sure it will prove be "the" place to eat in the local area.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
